We expect to arrive home coming saturday. Herewith we send you pictures of the wheatfields in the south of France. We are now in the Auvergne.The airco of our car has been repaired and we are happy about that because the weather here is warm, around 29 degrees.

On May 14 we travelled to France. Now we are at a campsite near Cordes sur Ciel, a medieval village.

We had a very pleasant weekend with our Spanish friends from Madrid. We met each other at the campsite in Riaza. We talked, made short walks and ate a special Segovian dish. See the pictures. After the weekend we travelled to Ayerbe in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The weather has improved a lot, today it is even over 30 degrees C. Luckily the campsite has high trees and thus a lot of shadow.

Sierra de Gredos and Riaza

From Sierra de Gredos we moved to a campite in Riaza on April 25. We visited the town of Segovia and made a roundtrip in the neighbourhood of Riaza. This weekend we will meet our friends from Madrid at the campsite we are now.

From the East to the West.

On April 15 we left campsite Chella Natura and moved 180 km. West. On April 18 we moved 450 km west. We are now in the Gredos, a beautiful mountaineous area southwest of Madrid. We made some walks, found some geocaches and visited the town Avila.

We are having a holiday, we are still at the campsite in Chella. This is the first time we stay such a long time at a campsite. The weather is changing. We had a few days with 28 degrees, after that it rained for nearly a week and since two weeks it has been between 12 and 18 degrees which is good weather for hiking and sightseeing. Today it started raining again. Next wednesday we will leave Chella and travel to the westside of Spain.

The Fallas.

The Fallas is an important festival in Valencia and Valencia province. Huge statues (Fallas) made of wood and paper are erected and burned on the night of March 19. Every day at 14.00 hrs for nearly a week they have the mascleta, banging fireworks, just banging, loud, very very loud and it produces a lot of smoke. It has been raining for three days now and the sun is not expected back for another four or five days. Yes, we are still in Spain.
